1. Prepare Your Container

Line a shallow tray or container with 2-3 layers of paper towel (upcycle that basil tray!) Moisten the paper towel thoroughly with water until damp but not soaking wet.

2. Sprinkle Seeds

Scatter your chosen microgreens seeds evenly across the damp paper towel. Aim for the seeds to be close but not overlapping or piled on each other.

3. Cover Seeds Lightly

Mist the seeds with water using a spray bottle, then cover with a clear lid or plastic wrap to create a humid environment. If you don’t have a cover, that’s okay too—you’ll need to mist more frequently. Put your container in a spot with indirect sunlight. Room temperature is perfect for germination.

4. Water

Mist the seeds 1-2 times daily to keep the paper towel consistently moist. Once the seeds sprout, remove the clear cover and move the tray to a sunny location and maintain moisture until the microgreens are ready for harvest.

5. Harvest

After 7-10 days, when the microgreens are 1-2 inches tall with their first set of true leaves, they’re ready to harvest! Simply snip them just above the paper towel with scissors.

Enjoy your fresh, homegrown microgreens in salads, sandwiches, or as a nutritious garnish!
